Often times we are asked, “What does it take to be a ski patroller?”
As any professional ski patroller can attest, at the very least you must like working with people. Diversity, flexibility and creativity are quintessential. The ability to change gears instantaneously while working in a constantly fluctuating environment is the norm.
Each Keystone patroller exhibits the ability to react and respond rapidly to a wide variety of trauma and medical emergencies, yet treat the sick and injured with dignity, compassion and professionalism; all while demonstrating the fundamental ability to ski or ride safely on any terrain, at any time, under any set of conditions.
Emergency medical response, avalanche control, lift evacuation, law enforcement and missing person reconnaissance are just a few of the many hats we wear.
